Mystery Monday – School Lunches

Today was Mystery Monday on the Afternoon Drive and we had a Mystery Question about school lunches.

A recent study (which you can find here) researched the amount of time students had to eat their school lunches, and how that impacted their food choices and the nutritional value they received. I asked you what the premium amount of time students needed to eat was, and Sarah from Lexington called in and correctly guessed 25 minutes.

I recapped the Fredericktown Tomato Show and told you all about the pictures from the 4 days of the Tomato Show, which you can find here.

Our Word of the Day was vaunted, an adjective meaning described as good or great, or often praised. You can read more on that here.

Have an awesome week!

Praise Thursday with War Room Prayers and Tomato Bread!

tomato bread

Today we talked about the power of prayer and resources about prayer from the War Room film.  Here is a website where you can find church, child and small group resources from War Room.

Prayer is described this way by Ken Blanchard and Phil Hodges in their book, Lead Like Jesus:

“Seeking God’s will through prayer, waiting in faith for an answer, acting in accordance with that answer, and being at peace with the outcome call for a level of spiritual maturity that will keep anyone seeking to lead like Jesus in the posture of a lifelong learner.”

We also had live updates from Jess and Faith at the Fredericktown Tomato Show…

We are looking to taste TOMATO BREAD from the show as our unofficial goal for this year’s event.  Do you know someone who makes or sells tomato bread?  We want to hear from you/them!!

Today’s word of the day was TELEOLOGICAL, an adjective describing something related to teleology, which is the study of evidences of design in nature.

Thanks for listening!

Today was Game Time Tuesday on the Afternoon Drive and we had 2 rounds of song poetry!

Kristen from Mount Vernon won our first round when she correctly guessed that the lyrics, We’ve been remade by grace/ We’ve all got new names/ And nothing we do could ever change/ What He did that day, belong to Josh Wilson’s song That Was Then, This Is Now.

Our second round of song poetry used these lyrics:

Your presence in this place
Your glory on our face
We’re looking to the sky
Descending like a cloud
You’re standing with us now
Lord, unveil our eyes

Dante from Gambier called in and correctly guessed that those lyrics are from Open Up The Heavens by Meredith Andrews.

We told you about Momentum, the radio conference some of our staff is leaving for tomorrow morning, which includes the Night of Joy music festival on Disney World! You can actually watch part of the Night of Joy festivities over here on Friday and Saturday night.
