The one who holds the stars!

Monday Motivation today? Well, this one’s easy as we witness a solar eclipse. Watch this one from Skillet and know that YOU ARE LOVED today!

If You can hold the stars in place
You can hold my heart the same
Whenever I fall away
Whenever I start to break
So here I am, lifting up my heart
To the one who holds the stars

The deepest depths, the darkest nights
Can’t separate, can’t keep me from Your sight
I get so lost, forget my way
But still You love and You don’t forget my name

Name a popular bird found in a zoo.

  1. Parrot (26)
  2. Flamingo (24)
  3. Peacock (22)
  4. Ostrich (17)
  5. Emu (11)

Congratulations to Brady from Mount Vernon who guessed the top two answers and wins the $5 gift card to Watts Restaurant in Utica.

Comfort from Scripture!

Mike shared from Lamentations 3:22-23— “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” What a comfort to know that every single day is new with God, no matter what happened the day before. Even for those of us who aren’t morning people, we can have hope and motivation each time the sun rises!

Abby talked through the story of the lame man by the pool of Bethesda in John 5:1-17. When this man could not help himself to enter healing, Jesus brought healing to him. This is a comforting reminder of how He comes to us in those moments where we cannot help ourselves! After healing him, verse 14 reveals that “Jesus found him in the temple.” What a powerful image, that immediately after he stood up to walk for the first time, he walked to a place of worship!

The Our Daily Bread for today used the wholesome image of a dad comforting his daughter in the dentist’s office to illustrate how the Father reassures us in crisis. Read it here!

Shout out to Lisa from Mount Gilead for calling in with the answer– “Don’t Lose Heart” by Steven Curtis Chapman! She wins $10 to Watt’s Restaurant for getting the stumper from last week.

Thanks for listening!

Helping Hands

For today’s Praise Thursday, Mike shared Hebrews 11:6— “And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.” This verse really ties in with this year’s Lifeline theme, “I Believe It.” Our belief is what enables us to draw near to God, and it should be foundational to the way we live our lives. If we fully believe in His existence and seek Him, the reward is great!

We shared the Our Daily Bread devotional for today, which is about “Helping as God Helps Us.” Read it here!

On the theme of helping others, Abby talked about 1 Thessalonians 5:14— “And we urge you, brothers, admonish, the idle, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with them all.” This verse not only encourages us to reach out to those around us, but to consider how everyone is unique in what kind of help they need. Let us be intentional in how we treat people, and keep in mind that they are uniquely created!

Lifeline 2024 and National Ravioli Day!

Hi,

Today on the show I talked about how Lifeline 2024 is happening next week! I also mentioned how you have a chance to win two tickets to see Lauren Daigle at the Ohio State Fair on July 29th! Listen in TOMORROW on The Morning Thing at 7:30 am and 8:30 am for a chance to win two tickets to see Lauren Daigle at the Ohio State Fair on July 29th! Also, today is National Ravioli Day, so I talked a little bit about that as well. And of course one person had a chance to win a $5 gift card to Watts Restaurant if they could guess our Who am I? Trivia question.

Here is the link to our website wnzr.fm. You can find out more information about Lifeline 2024 there.

Did you know that 87% of Americans like ravioli? I had no idea. That is very fascinating. To learn more fun facts about National Ravioli Day, click the link HERE. This is a great website to find out what national holidays are today.
