For today’s Praise Thursday, Mike shared Hebrews 11:6— “And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.” This verse really ties in with this year’s Lifeline theme, “I Believe It.” Our belief is what enables us to draw near to God, and it should be foundational to the way we live our lives. If we fully believe in His existence and seek Him, the reward is great!
We shared the Our Daily Bread devotional for today, which is about “Helping as God Helps Us.” Read it here!
On the theme of helping others, Abby talked about 1 Thessalonians 5:14— “And we urge you, brothers, admonish, the idle, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with them all.” This verse not only encourages us to reach out to those around us, but to consider how everyone is unique in what kind of help they need. Let us be intentional in how we treat people, and keep in mind that they are uniquely created!

I was one of two children.
I earned my bachelor’s degree in music from Rollins College in 1951.
I also earned a bachelor’s degree from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary in divinity in 1962. I became a Presbyterian minister a year later in 1963.
I began my television career on NBC in New York, before returning to Pittsburgh to work for children’s programming at NET (later became PBS).
I had this famous children’s tv show on PBS that ran from 1968 to 2001.
I died on February 27th, 2003, in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania at the age of 74.

Today for Artist News Day we shared exciting things going on in the Christian music industry!
First, Lauren Daigle has been announced for the Ohio State Fair this Summer! The show will be July 29th at 7pm. The Morning Thing will be giving away tickets this week to the Fair Concert! You can find more information HERE!
Mike also talked about Jeremy Camp and his recent heart surgery. The surgery was successful, and he is now at home recovering. Camp underwent surgery March 11 to treat atrial fibrillation (AFib), a condition where the heart rhythm becomes irregular and often rapidly beats, leading to symptoms like difficulty in breathing and reduced ability to function normally. In fact, the surgery went so well that he will be back on tour next week!
Today’s Monday Motivation comes from Isaiah 40:28-31 and the song ‘Everlasting God’ by Lincoln Brewster: Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. 29 He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. 30 Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; 31 but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. For today’s Praise Thursday, Abby shared Genesis 1:12— “The earth brought forth vegetation, plants yielding seed according to their own kinds, and trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.” It can be easy to think of cloudy skies and rainy weather as an inconvenience, but the Bible is clear that all aspects of nature are good in God’s perfect creative eyes, ESPECIALLY the rain. From it, things are nourished and growing!
Mike talked about 1 Timothy 4:10— “For to this end we toil and strive, because we have our hope set on the living God, who is the Savior of all people, especially of those who believe.” This verse outlines how our belief should serve as the foundation for what we do, work and strive towards glorifying God’s kingdom. We have an incredible hope because we believe, and the way we live should reflect that.

For me, my Good Samaritan is my family because they are always there for me no matter what. They stick by me when I mess up. They cheer me on when I succeed. Without them, I wouldn’t be who I am today!
