Artists are making big waves in the industry! It’s Artist News Day and Game Time Tuesday on The Afternoon Drive, and we had some news for you!

To start things off, Caedmon’s Call is releasing a documentary, “Making Up For Lost Time”, January 11th for a premier in Houston, TX! Amy brings Christmas to Nashville (again)!

NASHVILLE – Amy Grant will once again co-host “CMA Country Christmas” with Trisha Yearwood. The show will air Tuesday, Dec. 3 at 8/7c on ABC and next day on Hulu and Disney+. Filmed in Nashville in front of a live audience, the festive special showcases one-of-a-kind musical performances of Christmas classics from Country Music’s biggest stars, including Grant and Yearwood taking the stage to perform “Sing Your Praise To The Lord” and “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town.” Grant also performs “Tennessee Christmas.” The lineup includes for KING & COUNTRY with Carin León (“O Come, O Come Emmanuel”), Cody Johnson (“White Christmas“) and (“I’ll Be Home For Christmas”), Ashley McBryde and Brittney Spencer (“Man With The Bag”), Jon Pardi (“Horsepower Sleigh”) and CeCe Winans (“Joy To The World”). 

Starting this Friday, November 29 through December 21, Grant and husband Vince Gill will once again bring one of the most successful residencies in the history of Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium (famous former home of the Grand Ole Opry), “Christmas at the Ryman” which has presented over 100 shows in front of nearly a quarter-million people.

Christmas Music Is (Almost) Here!

Christian Music Takes on The Grammys!

Some of our favorite artists are nominated for Grammys! It’s Artist Newsday and Game Time Tuesday on The Afternoon Drive, and news is all around us!

TRIBL Records and Maverick City Music is celebrating 5 Grammy Nominations, while Provident Entertainment has been nominated for an astounding 14 Grammys!

Plus, For King + Country has us already prepared for Christmas with their theatrical presentation of “A Drummer Boy Christmas”, coming to theaters throughout the US December 5-9! WE CAN”T WAIT!!

Forrest Frank Takes Over!

It’s Artist News Day and Game Time Tuesday on The Afternoon Drive, and a Tik Tok sensation/artist took over the show’s news for today. Forrest Frank, your 2024 Dove Awards New Artist of the Year, has made a massive impact this year in both Christian and secular Media, and is dedicating it all to the Lord!

While giving his speech for receiving New Artist of the Year at the 2024 Dove Awards, Frank stated that, “it’s borderline hilarious that He would use someone like me to do this work…but I guess He does love to use the least qualified,” he continued. “Or maybe it’s the prayers & generational blessings, idk…but I don’t deserve this. I’m just out here doing what I love and He keeps providing. Thank you for listening and sharing and supporting. Let’s do this forever.”

Winner Winner, Chicken (Dove Awards) Dinner!

The Dove Awards wrapped up last Friday, and it’s safe to say a lot of artists came out of the night happy. Plenty of the performers, songwriters, producers and filmmakers received their flowers, including many of the artist we play right here on The Afternoon Drive!
