Motivation for a snow day!

Today’s Monday Motivation comes from the book “3-Minute Devotions”…

#1 Laughter

On your feet now-applaud GOD! Bring a gift of laughter, sing yourselves into his presence.

As children of the Creator Himself, we were made to laugh—to experience great joy. Our design didn’t include for us to carry the stress, worry, and heaviness every day. Go ahead! Ask God to give you a really good laugh today.
Prayer: Lord, help me to rediscover laughter. Help me to take every opportunity You bring to see the joy in life and the comedy that it brings to my world every day. Amen.

#2 Christian Living

You’re no longer wandering exiles. This kingdom of faith is now your home country. You’re no longer strangers or outsiders. You belong here, with as much right to the name Christian as anyone.
Ephesians 2:19 MSG

What seems impossible on our own becomes a pleasure when we have help. We are never alone in our Christian journey. We are given one another, and we are even in touch with God’s Holy Spirit.
Prayer: O Lord, show me how You want me to be. Open my eyes, my heart, my spirit. Amen.

I shared some notes from a church study we’re doing to start 2021 about why we need to be intentional about our encounters, or looking for encounters with God:
– we need His power, not our own (I Corinthians 2:4-5)
– we need His presence, not just our practices (Psalms 16:11)
– we need His purposes, not our wants (Jeremiah 29:11-13)

We can encounter God through our desperation, humility, repentance and obedience.
