Mystery Monday

Look At What HE has done!!

We love getting to start our week off with some Monday Motivation for you! We took a look at some encouraging and uplifting songs during The Afternoon Drive! Here’s what we talked about:

The enemy loves to bring up our sins and mistakes, whether past or present, trying to make us believe we’re too far gone, and that we’ve messed everything up. It messes with our heads and brings us down. The enemy tries to make us forget what Jesus did for us on the cross and make us think that God can’t save us.

However, the truth is that God does make all things new, and He has erased our sins by sending His one and only Son, Jesus, to die on the cross on behalf of us for our sins! We took a listen to Tasha Layton’s Look What You’ve Done and what this song says. Instead of letting ourselves tell ourselves “Look what you’ve done”, “You messed everything up”, let’s turn our eyes to Jesus, and thank Him for what He’s done, which was and is enough to save us and make us clean! Whatever you’ve done, Jesus is bigger than it, and He is enough! Look what He’s done on the cross to make you new!

1 Peter 2:24 (NIV) “He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.”

Here is your verse of the week!

Psalms 16:7 (NIV) “I will praise the LORD, who counsels me; even at night my heart instructs me.”

We’ve got another Family Feud-style question for Mystery Monday! Here was your prompt for this week:

Past or present, name a famous wall.

  2. Berlin Wall (35)
  3. Vietnam Wall (10)

More Than We Could Ever Ask, Think Or Imagine!

We love starting the week off strong with some Monday Motivation on The Afternoon Drive!

We took a look at Tauren Wells and Davies’ song Take It All Back during the show today, and we talked about how the enemy comes “only to steal and kill and destroy”, as it says in John 10:10. But when we look at the rest of that verse, Jesus says “I have come that they (That’s us!) may have life, and have it to the full.”

This song is a declaration of taking everything the enemy is stealing from us. Our joy, our peace, our strength. We take it all back in the Name of Jesus and by staying rooted in His Word. The enemy loves to take us on little rabbit trails in our mind by throwing some lies in our head, have us follow them, and eventually find ourselves lost in worry and anxiety, resulting in us feeling like we lost our joy. We can take heart, for Jesus came so we can have life, live it to the full, and combat the enemies lies by “take[ing] captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” (2 Corinthians 10:5; NIV)

This song is a powerful declaration of taking our joy back, and setting our eyes on God, who has never lost a battle! What a powerful message to start our week off!

Here is our Verse Of The Week on WNZR!

Luke 6:38 (NIV)
“Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”

In Whatever Do, Do It All For The Glory Of God!

Today, we are starting the week off right by digging into God’s Word on The Afternoon Drive! We dug into 1 Corinthians today and talked about worship!

It says in 1 Corinthians 10:31, Paul says “So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” An example of this we talked about was exercising, and how that can be worship! It says in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.” By taking care of our bodies and going out on a run, lifting, working out, we can use that for worship in taking care of the body God gave us. Our bodies are God’s temple, so it is good to take care of our bodies!

You will find by taking care of your body and eating well that your mind will start to become more clear. It will calm your anxiety and fear. Something about working hard with your body helps not only physically, but also mentally, emotionally, and spiritually! Even listening to worship music while you work out helps a lot too!

Here was your Family Feud question for Monday Motivation!

Cast your cares on Him for He cares for you!

What if I stumble? What if I fall? What if I mess up?

Sometimes when God calls us to something, these may be the questions that we first start asking. We’re scared to make mistakes and afraid of failure. But what if mistakes and failure is how we learn and become better?

God has a way of turning failure and shame into His glory and something beautiful. So why should we be afraid of failure? Should we be afraid of mistakes? God shows us that we never need to be afraid of failing or making mistakes!

The song from Consumed By Fire flips the questions of “what if” on its head in their song, challenging us:

“What if you ran through that open door?”
“What if your season of waiting was changing and leading to something more?”
“What if jumping leads to flying, and fear didn’t stop you from trying?”

You can listen to this song here:

Don’t let your “what if” questions keep you from the bigger plans God has for you! “Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares for you.” – 1 Peter 5:7 (NLT)

Set your eyes on Jesus! He will bring you through!

Starting your week off with some encouragement, we talked about Lauren Daigle’s song “Look Up Child”!

Lauren’s song encourages up to take our eyes off of our worries and struggles, and to just set them on Jesus! We see this posture of heart in Hebrews 12:1-2, where it says:

12 1Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.”

Set your eyes on Jesus! He will bring peace to you, take care of you, lead you, and guide you in whatever is swirling in your mind, or what your situation is!

Here was our Family Feud question on Mystery Monday!

Name a musical instrument you do not blow into.

Jesus Has ALL Authority!!

WNZR’s Verse Of The Week:
2 Corinthians 3:17 “For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”

We want to start your week off right on Monday Motivation today! Today we talked about the authority that Jesus has over our storms, our fears, everything!

When thinking of the song “I Know A Name” from Elevation Worship and Brandon Lake, which we listened to on The Afternoon Drive, we thought of the story when Jesus calmed the storm on the boat with His disciples. The waves and storms listen and obey to every command of Jesus, who has all authority over everything. It’s so encouraging and comforting knowing that He has the first and final say in everything!

We looked at this part of Scripture today:
Mark 4:38-41
38Jesus was sleeping at the back of the boat with his head on a cushion. The disciples woke him up, shouting, “Teacher, don’t you care that we’re going to drown?” 39When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Silence! Be still!” Suddenly the wind stopped, and there was a great calm. 40Then he asked them, “Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith?” 41The disciples were absolutely terrified. “Who is this man?” they asked each other. “Even the wind and waves obey him!””

We have nothing to fear for we know that Jesus is on our side!

We also listened to Forrest Frank’s “Your Way’s Better” during The Afternoon Drive, which reminded us of what it says in Isaiah 55:8-9:
8My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. 9For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.”

Forrest’s song says “I searched the world ’till my head hurts, just to find out Your way’s better.”

Ask God to show you how to follow Him and what He wants for you life! It may be hard to understand, but know if you come to Him and ask Him to help you, He is faithful to hear you and help you to know His will, and will lead you through every step He wants you to take!

Today we had a Family Feud-style trivia question! Here was today’s prompt:

Name an animal that weighs more than 1,000 pounds.

  1. Elephant (77 votes)
  2. Whale (7)
  3. Hippopotamus (6)
  4. Grizzly Bear (4)
  5. Rhinoceros (3)

Praise The Lord! He is with is in the pit.

We had some motivation to start your week off strong! We dove deeper into some songs we listen to on WNZR, them being Tasha Layton’s “Thank You Isn’t Enough” ft. The Choir Room, and “Raise A Hallelujah” from Bethel Music!

Tasha Layton’s newest one reminds us we always have so much to be thankful for! “Thank You for the air that I’m breathing, thank You for a life full of meaning” is something we can be thankful for on the mountain, and in the pit. If we still have air in our lungs, we know God’s not done with us!

Philippians 4:4 “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!”

“Raise A Hallelujah” is such a beautiful anthem of praising God anywhere. Whether it be on top of the highest mountain, or deep in the lowest of valleys, raising a hallelujah to God makes a huge difference. We were made to worship God, and what He wants us to do is worship through whatever we’re going through, as we see in Psalm 40: 4Blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, who does not look to the proud, to those who turn aside to false gods. 5Many, Lord my God, are the wonders you have done, the things you planned for us. None can compare with you; were I to speak and tell of your deeds, they would be too many to declare.”

Today we played Family Feud for Mystery Monday! Here was our prompt for today:

Besides Thanksgiving, name a holiday when people eat too much.

  1. Christmas (64 votes)
  2. Easter (16)
  3. 4th Of July (8)

Some truths to start your week!

We’re starting the week off with Monday Motivation with some truths to bring you some encouragement, and songs you hear on WNZR to go along with them.

You are not alone! You are loved, valued and created with a purpose.

This simple truth reminded us of Kari Jobe’s “I Am Not Alone”.

Speak life, be kind, shine bright! The world needs your light today.

This truth reminded us of TobyMac’s song “Speak Life”, and verse found in Proverbs 18:21. “The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences.”

Today we played Mystery Monday, where we ask you a Family Feud-style question, and you get to call in and give us the top two answers! Here was today’s prompt:

Name a job where people get wet.

Diver or swimmer (50 votes)
Lifeguard (27)
Firefighter (9)
Plumber (5)

Congratulations to Samantha from Mount Vernon for guessing the top two answers correctly, taking home that $5 gift card to Watts Restaurant in Utica! Tune in on Tuesday for a very special Artist Newsday announcement with TobyMac, and a special tour he just announced, and a game of Song Poetry!

Thank you so much for listening!
