Thank God for Dads!

Today is our last day of registration for WNZR’s ‘Take Dad to Dinner’ – get your dad registered here!

I wanted to share some wisdom that one of our artists, Rhett Walker, recently shared about fatherhood:

“There is not enough we can do to make yourself feel better about the time missed. There are not enough presents to give to make up for the times we react in anger. Truly, our only hope is Jesus and pointing our kids to Him! As fathers, it is our responsibility to love well, but to also remind our kids that we are all messed up and are in need of Jesus.”

Rhett suggests, “As you walk through this next week, remind yourself of these scriptures:

The righteous who walks in his integrity—blessed are his children after him! -Proverbs 20:7 ESV

Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. – Ephesians 6:4 ESV

Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it. “- Proverbs 22:6 NIV

Xander shared a devotional from Our Daily Bread called, “Calling Our Heavenly Father.” Read it by clicking here!

This one was a two-week stumper – ‘The King is in the Room’ by Phil Wickham. Congratulations to Lincoln from Utica who wins 2 $5 gift cards to Watts Restaurant in Utica.

Thanks for listening!

He’s An Abundant God

Today we looked at two incredible devotions from Our Daily Bread! Our first devotional pulls from Matthew 18, and reminds us that we are to forgive others no matter how many times they may wrong us. If they ask forgiveness with pure intention and remorse, you are to forgive them, just as God has done so many times for you. Forgiveness, to infinity and beyond! Read the full devotional here.

Our second devotional reminds us that God has given us far more than we need. He has given us an abundance in His creation. From the many trees that bear fruit, to the stars in the sky, it’s evident our God is a creative, loving, and abundant God. But creation is not all that feels his abundance, Paul assures us in 1 Timothy that God’s grace is far more than enough, and offered knowing that we need it every day. Read the full devotional here.

We also played Name That Tune! We played a 15 second clip to see if you could tell us the artist and title of the song and win two $5 gift cards to Watts Restaurant in Utica! Unfortunately, our clip was a stumper for the second week! We’ll have a new clip for next week!

Thanks for listening!

Praises and Prizes!

Today we shared a devotional from Our Daily Bread that refers to listening to the voice of God, which was inspired by 1 Samuel 3! Click here to read the daily devotional called “God Speaking To Us” from Our Daily Bread.

Today’s song was “Build My Life” by Pat Barrett and Cory Asbury. Congratulations to Jan from Howard for guessing the song title and both artists correctly!

Thanks for listening today! We had a blast!

Almost Friday…

Might as well rename Thursday this.

It’s Praise Thursday on The Afternoon Drive, and we had a ton of fun on the show today!

We shared encouragement to pick up your bible and get in the word again, because we need that encouragement just as much as you do!

We also gave away tickets to Tim Hawkins’ comedy routine March 22nd on the campus of MVNU! Congratulations to Doug Litteral for making me (Judah) laugh! He wins two VIP tickets to Hawkins’ 7pm show!

Praying For Our MVNU Community!

There’s a lot happening in our MVNU community, and we need your prayers!

It’s Praise Thursday here on The Afternoon Drive, and while we have plenty of prayer requests, we also have plenty of reasons to praise the Lord!

One of our most immediate prayer requests has to do with one of our very own MVNU students. Will Meyers and his girlfriend were involved in a serious car accident this past Sunday, and while they sustained some injuries, we are praising God for their recoveries. Both are doing tremendously better! Continue to pray for recovery, especially as Will heads into surgery tomorrow!

If you have a praise or prayer request of your own, give us a call at 740-397-9697!

A stumper this week! Tune in next Thursday for your chance to win TWO $5 Gift Cards to Watts Restaurant in Utica!

Thanks for Listening!- Judah

What love is…what love isn’t.

Paul reminds us in I Corinthians 13 that love is at the core of the Christian faith. The list that we hear many times at weddings has so many more applications to everyday life.

Love is: patient, kind, protecting, trusting, hoping and persevering
Love is not: envious, boastful, self-seeking…it does not delight in evil.

Here’s Unspoken to share more about love:

Our winners today include (4pm) Paul from Mount Vernon, who won a $10 gift card to Buffalo Wild Wings. (5pm) Cynthia from Walhonding won two certificates from Pizza Hut of Mount Vernon!

Two-week stumper!

Thanks for listening!

Prayer, Praises, Winter Jam Passes And More!

Another day, another Praise Thursday on the Afternoon Drive. We shared some important prayer requests that we ask you to pray for right now, including praying for sick members of our staff!

We also ask prayer for Bob Tocheff and his wife Diana, both incredible members of our MVNU community. Bob is currently hospitalized and facing some serious health issues. Continue to pray for Bob and Diana in this situation.

Continue to pray for everyone in Los Angeles facing the wildfires, and the courageous people working tirelessly to put out these horrible fires.

We also got to play some new music in the 5 o’clock hour, with Katy Nichole’s “When I Fall” Check out the music video!

A stumper again! Next week’s Name That Tune contest will be worth THREE Watts Restaurant gift cards!!

Thanks for listening!- Judah
