Our Word of the Day is churrasco (choo-RAHS-coe), which means ‘meat cooked over an open fire.’  It’s originally a Spanish word that was adopted into the English language during the 1900’s.  It originates from the Spanish verb socarrar, which means to singe or scorch.

It’s back!  Wesley and Josh are excited for the return of First Friday in downtown Mount Vernon…it begins tonight and goes through October. WNZR is excited to be back as a media partner with the Heritage Centre Association for this year’s events.  The dates will be: June 3, July 1, August 5, September 2 and October 7.
