Go-To Comfort Snacks!

How do YOU stay cozy in temperatures like this? Because we’re still trying to figure it out! It’s Who Knew Wednesday on The Afternoon Drive, and we’re wondering what your go to snack to stay cozy in this weather is. Maybe you’re a weirdo (like Judah) and prefer something cold and refreshing, or maybe you’re a classic warm snack type of person.

Our very own Joe Rinehart stands on crunchy Cheetos being the perfect winter day snack, or if you’re opting for something warm, he recommends Frito scoops with warm sloppy joe’s (which sounds sooooo good). Let us know what yours is!

We got to give away even more Winter Jam passes! Congrats to Wyatt from Mount Vernon for winning two passes to Winter Jam 2025!!

-I was born January 15, 1929 in Atlanta, GA

The simplicity of claiming this: God is Good.

I probably need Monday Motivation as much as anyone today. My week has started well, but to be honest, I’m just tired of bad news. Maybe you’re feeling it, too. 2025 has not started as any of us expected. New Orleans, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, the snow, the cold, family and friends dealing with health struggles. So today (and every day) I’m claiming this truth and this song from Francesca Battistelli: God is Good.

Joy comes, tears fall
I’m learning there is beauty in it all
It’s not hard to find it, you just have to look
Oh, God is good

I’ve said Hellos and goodbyes
and I’ve held my friends while they’ve cried
Tasted bitter and sweet
Those moments between
Oh, He’s had his hand on everything

Other than chocolate chip, name a popular cookie:
1 – Oreo (51 votes)
2- Oatmeal (22)
T2 – Sugar cookies (22)
4 – Peanut butter
5 – Girl Scout cookies

Congratulations to Lisa from Mount Vernon, who guessed the top two answers and wins the $5 gift card to Watts Restaurant in Utica.

Brandon from Mount Vernon!

Lift Up A Song Of Praise!

We all love music. You’d be hard pressed to find someone who doesn’t. It’s a beautiful thing when music blends incredible with words of truth and worship. And that’s exactly the kind of music we love playing for you right here on WNZR! Today for Praise Thursday on The Afternoon Drive, we decided to take a listen to the stories and inspirations behind songs of praise and worship.

From biblical truths of God unending faithfulness to the strength of a courageous mother, artists like Elevation Worship and Unsung Hero shared the inspirational and touching stories that inspired their work!

Continue praying for the people and city of Los Angeles as they face intense wild fires. Incredible teams, like God’s Pit Crew, are over in California leading the effort to fight the fires, repair damage and bring people to safety. If you would like to support God’s Pit Crew and their efforts, they are a reputable and trustworthy operation that will use your donation to help save lives. You can donate by heading to GodsPitCrew.org or calling (434) 836-4472.

Another stumper today! Next week’s Name That Tune will be worth THREE Watts Restaurant gift cards!

Back to School Anxiety, And How To Overcome It.

According to a study conducted in 2023, 87% of parents of children under the age of 18 say the back-to-school season causes them stress and anxiety. Maybe that’s what your child is dealing with today. If that’s the case, today for Who Knew Wednesday on The Afternoon Drive we want to share encouragement for you and your child.

  1. It is okay to feel these feelings
  2. Remember that no matter where you go, GOD IS WITH YOU! Isaiah 41:10
  3. There are things out of your control, and that is okay, because God ultimately IS! Deuteronomy 31:8
  4. If you trust in the Lord, He will make your path straight! Proverbs 3:5-6

As you go about your days this new school year, keep God’s truth close to your heart!
