May is Mental Health Awareness Month

The pandemic has had a lot of visible effects on our world, nation, and community. Less visible is the effect that it has had on our mental health. That is why it is more important than ever to recognize Mental Health Awareness Month and share resources helping anyone struggling with any form of mental illness.

The Morning Thing had the opportunity to speak with Dodie Melvin of NAMI Knox Licking Ohio. NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, offers many resources to anyone struggling with their mental health. In our conversation with Dodie, she shared the resources that NAMI offers, discussed the importance of raising awareness of mental health issues, and gave advice for friends and families to help their loved ones who are struggling with a mental illness. You can hear the entire conversation HERE. For more information about NAMI and their resources, you can visit their website, namiknoxohio.com.
