Forgiveness

Have trouble letting things go? We all do sometimes. Holding onto bitterness and forgiving others is usually the route we go down, but we don’t have to.

It’s Who Knew Wednesday on The Afternoon Drive, and also National Reconciliation Day, which celebrates making up and forgiving each other!

If there’s a relationship to mend or tough conversation that needs to take place, this could be your sign to do so! Holding on to things oftentimes builds up the bitterness and hurts us deeply, as well as those we love. If you need God’s help to forgive, you can cry out to Him anytime, and He will hear you!

Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.-Ephesians 4:32

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.-1 John 1:9

For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.- Matthew 6:14-15

-I was born April 2, 1914 in London, England

First of April Shenanigans

It IS April fools day…but this is hardly a joke.

It’s Artist News Day and Game Time Tuesday, and this is a HUGE month for Christian music!

Gospel Music Association (GMA) excitedly announced that industry leaders and organizations across Christian and Gospel music are coming together for the month of April to celebrate the first annual Christian Music Month (CMM), a movement designed to encourage fans everywhere to listen, engage, and share the power of Christian music. Guess what? You’re doing that right now by listening to WNZR!!

A talented singer named Baylee Littrell is making a name not just for himself, but for Jesus. The 22-year old son of Backstreet Boys star Brian Littrell performed “Hey Jesus” on American Idol , which he wrote about the pain of losing his grandmother three years ago — a loss that deeply shook his world and faith.

Check out the powerful performance here:

“The truth is I am my Father’s child
I make Him proud and I make Him smile
I was made in the image of a perfect King
He looks at me and wouldn’t change a thing
The truth is I am truly loved
By a God who’s good when I’m not good enough
I don’t belong to the lies, I belong to You”

Those are lyrics from Megan Woods’ “The Truth”! Congratulations to Jennifer from Centerburg! She wins TWO $5 Watts Restaurant Gift cards!

It’s Artist Newsday and Game Time Tuesday, and we have some exciting news to share!

Tauren Well’s EP Let The Church Sing, inspired by the historic launch of Church of Whitestone, which he and his wife, Lorna, founded in Austin, Texas, in January 2024. Welcoming nearly 4,000 attendees on its opening weekend, Church of Whitestone made history as the largest first-day church launch in American history. Lifeline week is here!

This week we’ll hear a lot about being ‘Made for These Days!’

Lord, please renew our confidence that we are in the right place at the right time, and you have called us by name!  We were born to shine bright in the darkness…and we don’t have to be discouraged or afraid. This world needs the hope inside of us, so let us echo Paul’s letter in Galatians, to not become weary in doing good, for in the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

Name something with a siren.

  1. Police car (28 votes)
  2. Ambulance (26)
  3. Fire truck (24)
  4. Weather alarm (19)
  5. Clock (3)

Congratulations to Dave from Fredericktown, who guessed correctly and wins the $5 gift card to Watts Restaurant in Utica.

Getting You To The Finish Line!

When you just want it to be Friday, Thursday can feel like the longest day ever. If you need that boost of encouragement to get to the finish line, we’ve got you covered!

It’s Praise Thursday on The Afternoon Drive, so of course we’ve got to give you some motivation to finish the week strong!

  • My lips will shout for joy
when I sing praise to you—
    I whom you have delivered.Psalm 71:23
  • But I trust in your unfailing love;
my heart rejoices in your salvation.
I will sing the Lord’s praise,
for he has been good to me.Psalm 13:5-6

These verses are the perfect reminders of the help and hope the Lord provides. If you’re struggling and need help, the Lord will always hear your cry.

“In The Eye of the Storm” by Ryan Stevenson is fantastic song about turning to God in the middle of despair:

“In the eye of the storm (yeah, yeah)
You remain in control (yes you do, Lord)
In the middle of the war
You guard my soul
You alone are the anchor
When my sails are torn
Your love surrounds me (Your love surrounds me)
In the eye of the storm (in the eye of the storm)”

It’s Artist Newsday and Game Time Tuesday on The Afternoon Drive, and we love seeing gospel music making an impact!

God can reach anyone, at any time, and this was the case when he used Brandon Lake and his song “Hard Fought Hallelujah” to open Jelly Roll’s heart to the gospel again: https://relevantmagazine.com/culture/music/how-a-brandon-lake-song-got-jelly-roll-to-worship-again/
