He Is Faithful!

Time and time again, He proves that He IS faithful. It’s Praise Thursday on The Afternoon Drive, and today we shared stories of times when God has worked through our lives! We’d love to hear yours! You can tell us your story right here!:https://www.facebook.com/photo/ fbid=1094717099321751&set=a.392606606199474

I have a pretty cool example of seeing God work in people’s lives. One time, I saw a woman go up to a young lady in Walmart, a total stranger, and tell her about Jesus. As simple as it seemed, seeing that left a huge impression on me. Why are we as Christians sometimes afraid of sharing our faith? Because it’s SCARY. But this incredible woman is the perfect example of the boldness we need to gain in our own faith.

Today’s track for name that tune was ‘Heart of God’ by Zach Williams. Congratulations to Sarah from Mount Vernon for naming the tune! She wins a $5 Gift Card to Watts Restaurant in Utica!

Thanks for listening!- Judah

Candy Corn…yes or no?

It’s National Candy Corn day, and people have some strong opinions! Some love it, and some, well….think it tastes like chalk. We loved hearing your thoughts on it! Karen said she loves it with peanuts, so did Ashley, and our very own Joe Rinehart, who said it’s the perfect mix of salty and sweet.

Drop your opinions about it right here! We wanna know, do you love it, or can you not stand it?: https://www.facebook.com/photo?fbid=1093643916095736&set=a.392606606199474

“When I wander through the desert
And I’m longing for my home
All my dreams have gone astray
When I’m stranded in the valley
And I’m tired and all alone
It seems like I’ve lost my way”

These lyrics belong to Kutless’ 2006 Hit, “Strong Tower”. Congratulations to Maude Proper for getting the right track! She wins the $5 Gift Card to Watts Restaurant in Utica!

You’ve got me on the edge!

TobyMac and Cochren and Co. teamed up in 2019 for what I like to call a great ‘driving song…’ Edge of My Seat. But this song is less about driving and more about, as Toby shares, posture.

He shares, “This song is about posture and the way we take our days on. You can either sit back – arms crossed, eyes rolled – wondering what this day is going to hold, but you’re sort of jaded to it.

Or there’s the other posture which is out on the edge of your seat where you’re wide-eyed in wonder of what God is going to do with that day. You’re hoping. There’s anticipation. You’re on the edge of your seat, and your posture is different – like a child thinking ‘whatcha gonna do with this day, Lord? Let’s go.'”

What’s something you might see on the ground in a messy room?

Miracles In Everyday Life!

Once again, it’s Praise Thursday on The Afternoon Drive! Miracles can happen in everyday life, and we talked about them!

We shared the story of a close friend miraculously being saved from a truck colliding into her while spinning out on black ice. Not only that, when she found a woman having an asthma attack in a car stuck in front of her, an EMT in a red sports car happened to drive by…stopping and helping them! Absolutely crazy…but a total miracle only by God’s grace!

Verse of the day: Psalm 20:7 “Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; But we will remember the name of the Lord our God.”

Put your trust in the eternal God, not the things of this world.

Today’s track was a MercyMe classic, with “I Can Only Imagine”. Congratulations to Julie from Frazeysburg for naming the right tune…she wins the $5 Watts Restaurant Gift Card!

Cake? Or Pie? Who Knew?

Boston Cream Pie? Is it? Today America celebrates one of the tastiest, but confusing desserts out there!

Is it pie? Or is it cake? Anne Byrn’s boonk, ‘American Cake,’ says Boston Cream Pie was created in 1856 by Armenian-French chef Mossburg Sanzian at the Parker House Hotel in Boston. The cake consisted of (from the menu) two layers of French butter sponge cake filled with thick custard and brushed with a rum syrup; its side was coated with the same custard overlaid with toasted sliced almonds, and the top coated with chocolate fondant.

So, what’s your favorite cake? What’s the worst? Here is a summary of what you told us!

BEST:
Chocolate cake donuts
Devil’s Food with caramel, brown sugar, or peanut butter icing
Carrot cake with buttercream or cream cheese icing
White wedding cake with buttercream or chocolate icing
German Chocolate cake
Red Velvet cake
Red Velvet cheesecake
4-layer black walnut cake
Boston Cream Pie
Pineapple upside-down cake
Dairy Queen Ice Cream cake

WORST:
boxed fruit cake
vanilla cake with vanilla icing
urinal cakes LOL (that’s from former WNZR DJ Patrick)

Running back to the table, back to our hope!

Seph Schlueter’s (SHLEE-tur) new song, ‘Running Back to You,’ is our Monday Motivation song today. The Erie, Ohio native shares this about his latest release:
“This song is one of wanting people to understand the joy and freedom that comes from knowing the Gospel, knowing what Jesus did. The Gospel literally means good news, but for too much of the church, we think it’s just okay news. But this is the best news ever!
Romans tells us the Gospel is the power of salvation to all who believe that it literally brought us from death to life, from slavery to freedom, and we get to live in that reality now. And it’s so exciting, it’s such a joyful thing. And so, ‘Running Back To You’ is a reminder that no matter where we’ve been, no matter how far we’ve wandered, the beauty of the Gospel is that we have a God who welcomes us in with open arms, who calls us back to the table, and who still loves us.”

Let’s come back to the table…and come back to hope!
