Wfc_pyrotechnic_displayToday was Who Knew Wednesday and we gave you all the details on all the different festivities taking place around Knox County this 4th of July weekend.

On Friday, July 3rd, you can head over to Mount Vernon’s July First Friday. WNZR will be going On The Road Without Big Blue (see what I did there?) to First Friday on the public square of downtown Mount Vernon from 6 pm – 9 pm. For more information on what we will be giving away and all of the other First Friday events, you can head over here.

The reason we will be On The Road Without Big Blue at First Friday is because we will be On The Road WITH Big Blue that same night at our WNZR Fireworks Viewing Party. The party starts at 8 pm and then at 9 pm, your family has the chance to compete in our annual Liberty Games, where you can win The Roar and Explore Prize Package from Experience Columbus, valued at over $500! The prize package includes tickets to the Columbus Zoo & Aquarium, Zoombezi Bay, Cosi, and more. And even if you don’t win, you’ll still have the BEST view of the fireworks in all of Mount Vernon at 10 pm. You can click here to find out more information about the party, or click here to invite your friends!

Then, after you fit in all that patriotic fun on Friday night, make sure to get a good night’s sleep so you and your family can enjoy even more festivities on Saturday! The Ariel Foundation Park Grand Opening Celebration will we taking place from 1 pm – 10 pm, and there will be tons of activities all over the park throughout the entire day, including a lazer light show and fireworks finale to close the celebration. You can find the complete list of activities and more information on the celebration here.

Our word of the day was esculent, an adjective meaning edible or fit for eating. You can see more on that word over here.

Have a great Wednesday evening!
