Jeremy Camp Releases His New Album ‘Deeper Waters’!

Hi!

Today on the show I shared some exciting news about how Jeremy Camp has released a new 13 song album as of yesterday. This features the song that we play here on WNZR titled ‘These Days’. We also had our weekly song poetry where one lucky person has a chance to win a $5 gift card to Watts Restaurant if they can guess the correct answer.

Jeremy Camp released a new album called Deep Waters! This album has 13 songs in it, including one song that we play here on WNZR titled These Days. Jeremy describes this album as a pop-infused reflection of the past two-plus decades of his life in the spotlight, as well as the appreciation for the moment of the now. He also recently had emergency heart surgery, so he knows the importance of living in the moment.

Jeremy had this to say about his album, “This record was written out of one of the most difficult yet profoundly beautiful seasons of my life,” he says. “Going through and expressing everything that God has unfolded over the years, including the challenges, joys, and pains that have led me into such a deeper connection with Him.”

His song “These Days” is currently top 2 in Christian Radio.

Blessing Offor Releases a New Track!

Today on the show I talked about how Blessing Offor released a new track called Somebody’s Child. This song features a collaboration with Dolly Parton. This song is absolutely amazing! It is a song that reminds us that we are always loved and we are all somebody’s child!

Blessing Offor who is a two-time Dove Award winner announced recently that he has released a brand-new track called “Somebody’s Child”, which features Dolly Parton as a part of the collaboration.

Blessing Offor had this to say about his latest track, “We’re all ‘somebody’s child,’ he explains. “It’s such a simple concept, but I hope it’s the beginning of us all realizing that there’s always a point of empathy, there’s always common ground if we want to find it. And there’s no better embodiment of finding common ground, finding relatability, than Dolly Parton. I’m so honored and humbled to have her on this project.”

Dolly Parton had this to say about the collaboration with Blessing Offor, “I know it’s too easy to say it was a blessing singing with Blessing,” she says, “but it was. I love the song ‘Somebody’s Child’ and I am very proud to be a part of it.”

Blessing Offor is currently on a national tour with Lauren Daigle. They are coming to Columbus, OH on this Saturday, May 18th. They will be performing at KEMBA LIVE! concert venue.

Unsung Heroes and Fall Tours!

Today, Mike and Abby shared about some big things in the Christian music industry! Mike talked about for KING AND COUNTRY‘s new soundtrack that came out alongside their family biopic film, “Unsung Hero!” This soundtrack features classic 90’s songs with a for KING AND COUNTRY twist to them! Today, the Afternoon Drive honored the legacy of WNZR artist Mandisa, who passed away last Thursday. Mike, Abby, and Joe shared what artists posted to honor the late artist and her impact. Today for artist news day, Mike and Abby brought news about NEEDTOBREATHE and Ellie Holcomb!

Lauren Daigle returns to Ohio!

Today for Artist News Day we shared exciting things going on in the Christian music industry!

First, Lauren Daigle has been announced for the Ohio State Fair this Summer! The show will be July 29th at 7pm. The Morning Thing will be giving away tickets this week to the Fair Concert! You can find more information HERE!

Mike also talked about Jeremy Camp and his recent heart surgery. The surgery was successful, and he is now at home recovering. Camp underwent surgery March 11 to treat atrial fibrillation (AFib), a condition where the heart rhythm becomes irregular and often rapidly beats, leading to symptoms like difficulty in breathing and reduced ability to function normally. In fact, the surgery went so well that he will be back on tour next week!

Lauren goes overseas; Chris embraces Irish!

Lauren Daigle announced yesterday that she will take her ‘Kaleidoscope Tour,’ abroad. This is Daigle’s first time playing in Europe since selling out a string of headline dates in 2019. She will headline performances at Gullbranna Festival in Sweden and Seaside Festival in Norway before the tour formally kicks off July 9 in Brussels and makes stops in Paris and Amsterdam before two shows in the UK – one in London and the other in Manchester, ending on July 15.

So what does an Irishman working and touring in the United States do to celebrate the start of March? Or what they call “St. Patrick’s Month?” Ask Chris Llewellyn of Rend Collective – he tried the Shamrock Shake, ordering with what he calls a ‘fake Irish accent’, and then described as, “light mint and heavy sugar.” He and the Rend team also toured a Target to look for green swag. Today for National Love Your Pet Day, Mike and Abby shared fun stories about their dogs! Mike’s golden doodle, Chloe, will do anything for treats, even wear one of his hats! Abby’s sheep-a-doodle, Luna, has been trained to use her jingle bells to let her family know when it’s outside time! Today, Mike and Abby recapped the Grammy Award winners. Christian Hip Hop Artist Lecrae took home two awards! He won for Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song for his song “Your Power” with Tasha Cobbs Leonard as well as Best Contemporary Christian Music Album for Church Clothes 4.
