Game Time Tuesday – 10/27

Today was a packed full Game Time Tuesday on the Afternoon Drive!

First, we told you all about how you can still register your pastor to win for the last week of Clergy Appreciation Month. Just head over here and tell us why you love your pastor.

We had a round of song poetry using these lyrics:

I wish you never thought you had to go
Wish you never thought you had to leave
Together we can lift each other up
We can build a shelter for the weak

Rob from Fredericktown called in and correctly guessed that those lyrics belong to Tenth Avenue North’s song No Man Is An Island.

We also told you about how you can pick up a doggy goody bag by emailing us a picture of your dog in his/her Halloween costume to wnzr@mvnu.edu. You can find out more information on that over here.

And make sure to mark your calendar for WinterJam 2016! The tour will stop in Columbus at the Schottenstein Center on Saturday, January 9th, in Cincinnati at the U.S. Bank Arena on Friday, February 19th, and at the Wolstein Center in Cleveland on Sunday, February 21st. The tour will feature some amazing artists, like for King & Country, Crowder, Matthew West, Sidewalk Prophets, and many more. You can see the complete line-up and more information on the tour over here.

Our Word of the Day was slapstick, and you can read more on that over here.

Have a great evening!

Mystery Monday – 10/26

Today was Mystery Monday on the Afternoon Drive.

This week’s mystery question was a stumper. I told you about this article I found, which shows the most popular kid’s Halloween costume for each state, and asked for the most popular one in Ohio. The correct answer was Cinderella.

I told you all about the WinterJam 2016 line-up announcement on the Morning Thing tomorrow at 7:30am. You can also watch the Launch Party live tonight over here.

The Word of the Day was victual, a noun defined as food that is usable by people. You can read more on that here.

Don’t forget to head over here and register your pastor to win in our last week of Clergy Appreciation Month.

Have an awesome week!

Mystery Monday – 10/19

Today was Mystery Monday on the Afternoon Drive!

Joe hid something in the Mystery Box, and after doing the hearing, smell, and touch tests, Sandy from Howard called in and correctly guessed that the item in the box was an emery board, or nail file.

We told you all about the Feel It, Film It contest, where you can enter to win 2 tickets to see TobyMac, Colton Dixon, Britt Nicole, and Hollyn. You can find all the details on that contest over here.

Our Word of the Day was germane, an adjective that means relevant to a subject under consideration. You can read more on that here.

The new film, Woodlawn, from the Erwin Brothers (October Baby, Mom’s Night Out) debuted on 1,553 screens this past weekend.  The true story of high school football in Birmingham, Alabama in 1973, grossed just over $4 million and was 9th at the box office. Woodlawn was 7th in average gross per screen.

Make sure to head over here to register your pastor for Clergy Appreciation Month, where we’re giving away a lot of prizes to a lot of deserving pastors.

Have an awesome week!

-Jess
