Today our devotional time reminds of the strength that comes from singing…that songs of praise can be our response in times of uncertainty and trouble. Here’s the link from Our Daily Bread to Patricia Raybon’s reminder that we are “Strengthened in Song”:
Psalm 59:1, 14-17 Deliver me from my enemies, O God; be my fortress against those who are attacking me.
They return at evening, snarling like dogs, and prowl about the city. 15 They wander about for food and howl if not satisfied. 16 But I will sing of your strength, in the morning I will sing of your love; for you are my fortress, my refuge in times of trouble.
17 You are my strength, I sing praise to you; you, God, are my fortress, my God on whom I can rely.

I shared about a Francis Chan Sermon I listened to on Sunday. He shared about about these verses, John 16:7 “I tell you the truth. It is better for you that I go away. If I do not go, the Helper will not come to you. If I go, I will send Him to you.” And Luke 12:11 – 12 “When you are brought before synagogues, rulers and authorities, do not worry about how you will defend yourselves or what you will say, for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that time what you should say.” Here is the link to that Sermon!

Starting out a dreary Monday with some Monday Motivation to drive the dreary away, along with a chance to win with our Mystery Monday mystery question!
I shared about hope in a world where we are bombarded by messages. But in the midst of “You need” “You should” and “You will” , God says that you are not alone, you are enough, you are loved, you are forgiven and there is a hope beyond this broken world. Hebrews 6:19 says “This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary. “
Joe shared a devotional about recognizing God’s presence and touch in the midst of things that scare you from Our Daily Bread. You can read the whole devotional HERE.
