Game Time Tuesday – 8/4

Today was Game Time Tuesday on the Afternoon Drive.

We played song poetry with these lyrics:

Could it possibly be
That we simply can’t believe
That this unconditional
Kind of love would be enough

Josiah from Sunbury called in and correctly guessed that those lyrics belonged to MercyMe’s song Flawless.

Joe talked about the Chris Tomlin concert at the Ohio State fair that he and some of our staff got to attend. You can see all the pictures from that by clicking here.

We also told you that our Big Blue Crew will be on the road at August First Friday, the Hartford Fair, and the Dan Emmett Music & Arts Festival. You can find out all the information on those events over here.

Our word of the day was luminaria, a noun that is a traditional Mexican Christmas lantern. You can read more on that here.

Have a terrific Tuesday evening!

Mystery Monday – Fairs, Food, and Chris Tomlin

Today was the first day almost back to normal for the Afternoon Drive.

We were On The Road at the Knox County Fair all last week and you can see all the pictures and videos from that over here on our Facebook page.

It was also Mystery Monday, and since Joe Rinehart was On The Road with Big Blue and the rest of our crew at the Ohio State Fair in preparation for the Chris Tomlin concert, I decided to have an Ohio State fair themed Mystery Monday question.

I asked what the most popular fair food is at the Ohio State Fair and, after receiving around 30 guesses from corn dogs to saltwater taffy, I finally got a call from Rosana from Butler correctly guessing deep fried buckeyes.

Our Word of the Day was leitmotif, a noun meaning a dominant recurring theme. You can read more on that here.

Have a great week!

Game Time Tuesday – NYC, Concerts, and the Hillsong Movie

It was Game Time Tuesday on today’s Afternoon Drive!

We started off with song poetry with these lyrics:

And on those days when the sky begins to fall

You’re the blood of my blood

We can get through it all

Herb from Fredericktown quickly called in and guessed that those lyrics belong to NEEDTOBREATHE’s song Brother.

We also had a Buzzword stumper with the word ticket.

I told you about the videos our Big Blue Crew put together from their trip to Louisville, Kentucky for the Nazarene Youth Conference last week. You can check out all of those videos below.

(Click the title of each for that video)

NYC15 Recap – Day 1

NYC15 Recap – Day 2

NYC15 Recap – Day 3

NYC15 – How Will You Shine Forth?

NYC15 MVNU Flash Mob

NYC15 – Wrap Up

I definitely recommend checking out all of those videos!

I also told you about some concerts from some of our favorite artists. You can catch Chris Tomlin in concert at the Ohio State Fair on Monday, August 3rd at 7 pm. Tickets are $23 and you can get them over here. You can also sees Newsboys in Columbus at the Palace Theater on Saturday, December 5th at 6 pm. You can find out more information on that concert here.

Plus, I told you about the Hillsong UNITED movie, Hillsong: Let Hope Rise, that is releasing this fall. The movie hits theaters September 30th, and you can check out their website over here for the trailer, information about the film, and to meet the band.

Our Word of the Day was chicane, a verb that means to use deception, or to trick or cheat. You can read more on that here.

Have a terrific Tuesday evening!
