I shared about a Francis Chan Sermon I listened to on Sunday. He shared about about these verses, John 16:7 “I tell you the truth. It is better for you that I go away. If I do not go, the Helper will not come to you. If I go, I will send Him to you.” And Luke 12:11 – 12 “When you are brought before synagogues, rulers and authorities, do not worry about how you will defend yourselves or what you will say, for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that time what you should say.” Here is the link to that Sermon!

Praise Thursday – July 16th

Today was Praise Thursday on the Afternoon Drive!

I shared some devotionals from an awesome ministry called Our Daily Bread. You can check out their website over here for tons of daily devotionals.

The first devotional I shared was titled Ordinary People, and it was all about how God uses ordinary people to do extraordinary work for His Kingdom. You can check out that devotional here and the verse that goes with it over here.

Next, I shared Seeing Beyond Loss, which was about looking to God instead of dwelling on disappointment or sadness. You can read the whole thing here. You can see the verses that go with this over here.

Lastly, I shared one that I think is VERY important to today’s society, and it’s called Web Wisdom. This devotional is all about asking for God’s wisdom and guidance before you comment something rude and condescending, or post something you know you probably shouldn’t. The whole devotional won’t be online until August, but you can find the verses that go with it here.

I told you about SonFest 2015, which will take place on Saturday, September 26th on the campus of MVNU. Tickets are on sale now, and you can find out how to get those and more information on SonFest over here.

Plus, I let you know that Michael W. Smith will be coming to Columbus this fall. He will be at Grove City Church of the Nazarene on Monday, September 28th at 7:00 pm. You can find out all the information on that over here.

Our Word of the Day was celerity, a noun meaning rapidity of motion or action, or swiftness. You can read more on that over here.

Also, don’t forget to check out all the videos our Big Blue Crew put together at the Nazarene Youth Conference in Louisville, Kentucky last week. There are 6 different videos and they are all so cool! You can find them all below: (just click on each title to watch that particular video)

Praise Thursday – July 9th

Today was Praise Thursday on the Afternoon Drive.

I shared some great devotionals from an awesome ministry called Our Daily Bread. Click here to check out there website.

The first one I shared was titled “Feeling Insignificant?” and it was all about realizing that you have worth and importance in Christ. You can read the whole thing here. The verses that go along with it are 1 Timothy 6:17, Ephesians 2:10, and Psalm 139:7-16.

The other devotional I shared was “Start From Here!”, which talked about how you can start living for God today. Whatever has happened in your past or whatever choices you have made are insignificant in God’s eyes when you choose to follow him. You can check out the entire devotional over here. That devotional uses Acts 9:1-9 and Phillipians 3:13-14.

I talked about Operation Christmas Child and the awesome work they are doing. You can check out there website over here. I also shared the story of a 12 year-old orphan named Livia, whose life was changed when she received a shoe box from Operation Christmas Child. You can read the whole story here.

Our Word of the Day was nonage, a noun meaning a period of youth or a lack of maturity. You can read more on that here.

Have a great end to your week!

Praise Thursday

Today was Praise Thursday, and I shared some devotionals from Our Daily Bread.

The first one I shared was “Image Consultants”, which talked about how we should place greater importance on inner transformation versus outer transformation. You can read the whole thing here.

I also shared on titled “We’re A Community”, where we are encouraged to use our gifts that God has given us to help others whenever we have an opportunity to do so. You can check out that one over here.

The last one I shared was “Tell Your Story”, which stressed the importance of telling others our stories and how God has worked in our lives. You can find that whole thing here.

Our word of the day was palaver, which is prolonged and idle discussion.

Thanks for listening and have a great end of your week!

-Jess
