We will be cleansed and made whole again. Also we had our weekly Name That Tune Feature where one lucky person has a chance to win TWO $5 gift cards to Watts Restaurant.
Here is the devotional that I shared from Our Daily Bread titled, “Cleansed By Christ”. Read more about it here!

Are you in the market for some wisdom? Some advice leading to good judgment? The Word of God is a great place to start:
“The wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without a trace of partiality or hypocrisy.” – James 3:17 (KJV)
Other translations of this verse include the adjectives, “considerate, submissive, impartial, sincere.” Today we shared a prayer from authors Christine Dallman and Randy Petersen:
‘”I’ve had enough of worldly wisdom, dear Lord, from so-called sages who tell me that money buys happiness and success brings friends. They say I should put myself first, indulging my desires and ignoring others. This, I’m told, is the path to fulfillment. But that can’t be right, can it? Lord, I ask for an extra helping of your ‘wisdom from above.’ Show me how to treat others with gentle love. Teach me to deal peaceably with the challenges in my life. Help me be fruitful and merciful. Erase the petty prejudices that keep me from appreciating your other children. Let me yield fully to your perfect wisdom and set aside the tame truisms of this world.”
Dylan shared a devotional from Our Daily Bread called ‘Words Reflect Our Heart.’ Read more here!
We had a stumper this week! A couple of hints: it was a song we played in the 4pm hour, a song that samples part of a classic hymn and part of the hymn title is in the title of this song.
Today we shared a devotional from Mike Wittmer and ‘Our Daily Bread’ about what extravagant love from a Christ-follower looks like. Mike shares the story of someone he met on an airplane flight. Read more here by clicking this link!

Today on the show we talked about how today is National Day of Prayer and we shared a devotional from Our Daily Bread! We heard from several different local pastors here in Knox County. Mike also shared a devotional from Our Daily Bread that is associated with how today is National Day of Prayer. And of course we had our weekly Name That Tune Trivia where one lucky person has a chance to win a $5 gift card to Watts Restaurant in Utica.
The theme this year for National Day of Prayer is “Lift Up the Word, Light Up the World.” The theme verse this year is 2 Samuel 22:29-31, “For you are my lamp, O Lord, and my God lightens my darkness. For by You I can run against a troop, and by my God I can leap over a wall. This God-His way is perfect; the word of the Lord proves true; He is a shield for all those who take refuge in Him.” Mike shared about the encouragement of these verses and how God being a shield for us helps us to overcome the obstacles we face.
Walking Free by Micah Tyler!
Congratulations to Jennifer of Centerburg for guessing the correct answer! She wins a $5 gift card to Watts Restaurant.
Abby shared a simple encouragement, from Matthew 6:26–“Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow or reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?” God provides for all of His Creation, down to the smallest creatures. We are not only His Creation, but His children– there is no need to worry because He WILL take care of us!
Mike talked about 1 Corinthians 10:13— “No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.” This is a message of hope that whatever situation we are in, God will help us out of it. We might not be able to handle some things on our own, but He will be present with us through all obstacles!
The Our Daily Bread devotional for today emphasized that God is our helper, and through our lives He will accomplish incredible things if only we ask for His help. Read it HERE.
Shout out to Lisa from Mount Vernon for calling in with the answer– See Me Through It by Brandon Heath. She wins a $5 gift card to Watt’s Restaurant in Utica!
Abby talked about Jesus as the “good shepherd.” He says in John 10:27-28, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.” Shepherds have a full time job to protect these animals and make sure they do not wander– ultimately, the sheeps’ lives are in the hands of the shepherd. If anyone is going to be the best at His job, though, it’s Jesus! He makes it clear that NO ONE will snatch us out of His protection and care.
The Our Daily Bread devotional for today also talks about God’s tender and protective love. He is like a father holding His children to comfort them! Read it here.
Mike shared Jeremiah 17:7-8: “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord. He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit.” This is a beautiful analogy for what a healthy relationship with God looks like. He is always supporting us and holding us up– and He will provide us with the water we need to grow in Him!
Shout out to Bethany from Mount Vernon for guessing today’s song– This Is Our God by Phil Wickham! She wins a $5 gift card to Watt’s Restaurant.
