Today on the show we talked to Mayor Matt Starr about the employee appreciation luncheon. We also gave an updated total for Lifeline 2024. Our total is now $81,349! Who Knew Wednesday Featuring Nichole Lybarger Knox Public Health Relations Coordinator!

Today on the show I talked to Nichole Lybarger who is the Knox Public Health Relations Coordinator. She shares all about Public Health and how you can get involved!   • My parents ran a general store in the town that I grew up in.
  • I was a three-sport athlete at Bridgeport High School in Bridgeport, Ohio
  • I played college basketball at The Ohio State University where I played with several NBA greats. I am also a part of the only National Championship won by OSU in 1960.
  • I played for the Boston Celtics where I won eight championships.
  • I died on April 25th, 2019, in Jupiter, Florida, at the age of 79.

  • I was one of two children.
  • I earned my bachelor’s degree in music from Rollins College in 1951.
  • I also earned a bachelor’s degree from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary in divinity in 1962. I became a Presbyterian minister a year later in 1963.
  • I began my television career on NBC in New York, before returning to Pittsburgh to work for children’s programming at NET (later became PBS).
  • I had this famous children’s tv show on PBS that ran from 1968 to 2001.
  • I died on February 27th, 2003, in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania at the age of 74.

Today on the show I talked about how today is National Good Samaritan Day! I also talked about how Lifeline 2024 is quickly approaching. Who is your Good Samaritan? This is a question that all of us should be asked daily.

For me, my Good Samaritan is my family because they are always there for me no matter what. They stick by me when I mess up. They cheer me on when I succeed. Without them, I wouldn’t be who I am today!

  • I had a show that ran from June 1969 to March 1971 on ABC. I hosted guests such as Neil Young, Louis Armstrong, and Neil Diamond.
  • I died on September 12th, 2003, at the age of 71.

A Special Valentine’s Day Edition of The Afternoon Drive and The Good Doctor!

Happy Valentine’s Day from all of us here at WNZR! I hope your Valentine’s Day has been amazing so far!

Today on the show I talked about different things that are associated with Valentine’s Day such as how much we spend on this Valentine’s Day, how many roses are made each year, how many cards are exchanged each year, and I gave a breakdown on where our money gets spent on specific gifts for Valentine’s Day. I also shared some Bible verses that are associated with love. Also, we had our weekly Who am I? trivia question where one lucky person has a chance to win a $5 gift card to Watts Restaurant.

Here are some different facts about Valentine’s Day that I featured on today’s show:

The Meaning of Love in The Bible

In the Bible, love is the essence of God’s character and the defining quality of his selfless, life-giving relationship with humanity. The biblical authors display the meaning of love through stories, poetry, and discourse. Hebrew words such as khesed (loyal love) and ahavah (affectionate, caring love) teach us about specific qualities essential to the concept of real love. And Greek terms such as agápe (divine love) and philia (familial love) emphasize the unique ways that God, friends, family, partners, and enemies can love one another. Beyond specific terms, the overarching story of the Bible ultimately describes love as the act of putting others before oneself—serving the interest and well-being of another.

The Love of God According to the Bible

The love of God can describe God’s love for humanity or humanity’s love for God. The biblical authors show us how God’s love for humanity is selfless, just, and unbreakable. They also show how God acts in love toward people, and how people respond to God’s love, while inviting readers to love God with everything they’ve got.

  • I was born on February 14th, 1992, in Camden Town, London.
  • I attended Emmanuel College where I got my degree.
  • I am an actor who starred in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory as the main character, Charlie Bucket.
  • I also am the lead actor on the TV show series The Good Doctor. I play the role of Dr. Shaun Murphy.
  • I am 32 years old, married, and currently live in London, England.

National Peanut Butter Day and Russ Lee from Newsong!

Today on the show I talked about how today is National Peanut Butter Day. I also had an interview with Russ Lee from Newsong who is a part of the Winter Jam 2024 lineup. We also had our weekly Who am I? trivia question where one person has a chance to win a $5 gift card to Watts Restaurant.

Did you know out of 1,000 people surveyed that 72% which is nearly three-quarters of the people surveyed, like smooth peanut butter over chunky peanut butter? I had no idea. Also, 35% of men are far more likely to pick chunky peanut butter; as opposed to women who only choose it 28% of the time. I just thought both of these things were interesting.
