Fun facts for a sunny day!

Today is May 19, also known in some parts as MAY RAY DAY!

Get yourself out into the sun! That’s the best way to celebrate May Ray Day.

Get a new wardrobe of pretty spring clothes and take your family out on a picnic!

Been exercising inside all winter? Get yourself out into the sun and go for a walk or a jog, breathe in that fresh air, and if you have allergies, take a Benadryl…

May Ray Day is your reminder to go outside and soak up some sun in the great outdoors, so get out there!

Today is also NUMERACY DAY…

The aim is to celebrate numbers and how we use them in everyday life. The day is designed to encourage people to feel curious about numbers, explore how they can benefit them in their day to day life and give them the confidence to develop and improve their numeracy skills.

  • I was born on this day in 1942 in Greensboro, North Carolina
  • My real first name is Frederick

The first week of May – so much happening!

Today is one of those Who Knew Wednesday shows that has a lot to cover!

It’s Cinco de Mayo…here’s the scoop if you’re heading out for some Mexican food tonight:

Cinco de Mayo, or the fifth of May, is a holiday that celebrates the date of the Mexican army’s May 5, 1862 victory over France at the Battle of Puebla during the Franco-Mexican War. The day, which falls on Wednesday, May 5 in 2021, is also known as Battle of Puebla Day. While it is a relatively minor holiday in Mexico, in the United States, Cinco de Mayo has evolved into a commemoration of Mexican culture and heritage, particularly in areas with large Mexican-American populations.

Choosing to hope…

Today we kicked off the show with Danny Gokey’s song, ‘New Day,’ which says, “this is a new day, everything’s bursting with hope…” and I started thinking, do we really feel that way? Sometimes, don’t we have to intentionally CHOOSE hope? That’s the topic of today’s Monday Motivation from author Lisa Samra. You can find the link to Our Daily Bread by clicking here.
