Game Time Tuesday

Today, Joe and I returned to the show after having missed a few days for our WNZR Leadership Team retreat. It was Game Time Tuesday and we played song poetry with these lyrics:

And this is who You are, more constant than the stars

Up in the sky, all these years, all my life

Katie from Mount Vernon called in and correctly guessed that those lyrics belong Colton Dixon’s song, Through All Of It.

We talked about the new Hillsong UNITED movie, Hillsong: Let Hope Rise, coming out later this year. The movie, which hits theaters September 30th, follows the rise to popularity of the Australian-based worship band. You can check out the trailer and find more information on the film by clicking here.

We also did a little recap of our WNZR retreat, where we really focused on finding our identity in Christ and letting God build His Kingdom in our hearts, so that we can then go out and build His Kingdom in the world. A great song that really stresses this idea is Build Your Kingdom Here by Rend Collective, and you can check out the video for that over here.

Plus, we shared some information on our WNZR Fireworks Viewing Party that is coming up THIS Friday, July 3rd. You can find out all the details on that event here.

Our word of the day was exacerbate (not to be confused with exasperate). It’s a noun that means to make more bitter or severe, or to make a situation worse.

Have a great week!

Mystery Name Monday

Today was Mystery Monday and we talked all about names.

We found the Social Security Administration’s list of the top 100 girl and boy names over the past 100 years, so for our mystery question, we asked for the top male name and the top female name. Erin from Howard correctly guessed that the names were James and Mary. You can see the full list here.

We also played with a fun name generator we found from Time Magazine, where you enter your name, birth year, and gender to find out what your name would be if you were born today. Joe’s first and middle names, Joseph Dale, would be Matthew Carson, and mine, Jessica Paige, would be Emma Alexa. To find out what your name would be, just click here! (Warning- it’s kind of addicting!)

Our word of the day was sempiternal, an adjective meaning of never-ending duration or everlasting.

Have a great week!

Mystery Monday

Today was Mystery Monday and I got to hide something in the Mystery Box!

After Joe did the hearing test and the smell test, Janice from Danville called in and correctly guessed that the mystery item was a blueberry bagel.

We talked about Take Dad To Dinner, where you can tell us why you love your dad for his chance to win some awesome prizes, including a $25 gift card to Jake’s Restaurant. You can find out more on that over here.

We also talked about the Danville/Howard Turkey Festival, which kicks off this Wednesday. We’ll be giving away a total of 9 different prize baskets for all different ages. You can find out everything you need to know and also register for those prize baskets by clicking here.

Our word of the day was Brobdingnagian, which is a noun meaning a giant, and an adjective meaning marked by tremendous size. Joe pointed out that you may recognize this word from the book and children’s tale, Gulliver’s Travels.

Have a great week and thanks for listening!
