I also recapped July First Friday–an event that enticed an even larger crowd than June! With food, music, trains, dogs of all sizes, Main Street had it all on Friday night!

Today my plans got derailed a bit due to an equipment issue that knocked us off the air for about 15 minutes. I picked this devotional for Monday Motivation because it’s a good reminder of this question: how do you respond then your plans don’t work out? Or get postponed?

Today we kicked off the show with Danny Gokey’s song, ‘New Day,’ which says, “this is a new day, everything’s bursting with hope…” and I started thinking, do we really feel that way? Sometimes, don’t we have to intentionally CHOOSE hope? That’s the topic of today’s Monday Motivation from author Lisa Samra. You can find the link to Our Daily Bread by clicking here.

Today’s Monday Motivation comes from author Bill Crowder and reminds us of the power of music. It can change the direction of our attitude and our day. It can give us great hope when we’re feeling down. It also started a revolution in Estonia!
So…what inspired Jeremy Camp to write the song ‘Keep Me in the Moment?’ Here’s what he shared last March:
“When I wrote this song, it really was inspired by a conversation with my wife Adrienne. We were talking and realizing that our daughter Bella only has a few more years in the house with us because she’s going to go off to college. It really sent us on a trajectory of being more intentional with her, and of course the whole family and just realizing how fast time goes, and I don’t want to miss out on any moment. I realize so much with our society we live in, we have our faces buried in our phone so much, and we’re not even keeping our eyes open to things around us – that God may be trying to reveal things in our family, in friends in our lives or whatever it may be. We’re so caught up so many times in what’s next or what’s tomorrow or planning for next year and I’m not saying planning is wrong, but we may miss what God has for us today. And for me, I don’t want to miss anything that God has for me. I want to stay in the moment. It’s been a life lesson for us right now and kind of a reset button and it’s been so good, I pray it encourages you guys.”
