Game Time Tuesday

Today was Game Time Tuesday and WE FINALLY GOT A BUZZWORD WINNER!!! We had a three-week stumper with the word “Bill” and Heidi from Bellville called in and was our winner!

Our word of the day was sclaff, which is a verb that means to scrape the ground instead of hitting the ball cleanly on a golf stroke.

Have a terrific Tuesday and make sure you come see us tomorrow at the Centerburg Heart of Ohio Days Festival!

Mystery Name Monday

Today was Mystery Monday and we talked all about names.

We found the Social Security Administration’s list of the top 100 girl and boy names over the past 100 years, so for our mystery question, we asked for the top male name and the top female name. Erin from Howard correctly guessed that the names were James and Mary. You can see the full list here.

We also played with a fun name generator we found from Time Magazine, where you enter your name, birth year, and gender to find out what your name would be if you were born today. Joe’s first and middle names, Joseph Dale, would be Matthew Carson, and mine, Jessica Paige, would be Emma Alexa. To find out what your name would be, just click here! (Warning- it’s kind of addicting!)

Our word of the day was sempiternal, an adjective meaning of never-ending duration or everlasting.

Have a great week!

With Father’s Day being this weekend, we talked all about fathers for Praise Thursday.

Joe shared a list that Tony Dungy put together, called “10 Ways to Be an All Pro Dad”. You can find that list here.

We also talked about the top TV dads. Joe said if he had to choose a TV dad to be his dad, he would choose either Charles Ingalls from Little House on the Prairie or John Walton from the Waltons, because they both remind him of his own dad. I would choose either Danny Tanner from Full House of Philip Banks from the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. We shared a list of TV Guide’s “50 Greatest TV Dads of All TIme”. You can see the full list here.

Joe also shared the story of the prodigal son. You can read the whole thing here.

And of course, we couldn’t forget about our Take Dad to Dinner contest! Head over here and tell us why you love your dad and why you want to take him out to dinner for his chance to win. Registration ends at 11:59 pm TONIGHT, so make sure you register now!
