Choose to Be Happy at Work

Happiness is mostly a choice. You can choose to be happy at work. It sounds simple, but it’s often difficult to put into action. We all wish to have the best employer in the world, but, let’s face it, we may not.

So, think positively about your work. Dwell on the aspects that you enjoy about work, and avoid negative people and gossip. Find coworkers you like and spend your time with them. Your choices at work largely define your experience. You can choose to be happy at work.

1 Peter 5:7, NLT Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.

Mystery Monday!

Today Lilly and I played mystery box and talked about the best ways to declutter your home!

For the mystery box, we did three sense tests before Jason from Butler guessed what was in it, and won that $5 gift card to Troyer’s of Apple Valley and 4 tickets to the AAA Great Vacations Travel Expo!

Here are the questions Lilly asked and the answers I gave, for each test.

Shake Test:

  1. Is this a common household item?  – Yes!
  2. Is this something that I would have in my apartment? – Yes!

Smell Test:

  1. Is this edible? At some point, yes.
  2. Is this a food item that people keep in their cars for emergencies? Not really, they could – but I doubt it.

Touch Test:

  1.  Was the item in this bag chips?  Yes!
  2. (She knew it was a bag right away)

The answer: A empty bag of salt and cracked pepper chips!

Here is where we got all of our decluttering tips!

The Best Decluttering Advice We’ve Heard

Thank you so much for listening to the afternoon Drive – we appreciate YOU, we couldn’t do what we love to do without your support!

Cold? Yes! Really cold? Maybe…

Today we shared some facts about the cold.  Let’s face it…the weather is cold around Ohio today, but it could be like 1899.

The cold snap that covered the USA from February 1-14, 1899 is known as the Great Arctic Outbreak.  The Weather Channel shared some facts from that two-week span:

  • EVERY state in the Union (45 at that time) had at least one day where the temperature was below zero.
  • Tallahassee, Florida, dipped to -2 on February 13, 1899, the only subzero low in the city’s history. This remains the all-time record low for Florida.
  • All-time record lows were set in 12 states.
  • Temperatures dipped as low as -61 in Montana.
  • Cape May, New Jersey got 34 inches of snow from February 11-14.
  • Engineers said trusses on the Brooklyn Bridge contracted 14 feet!

So…maybe it’s not that cold, after all?  Okay, yea.  It’s cold.

Congratulations to Cheryl, who won Song Poetry by guessing the lyrics we shared belonged to Natalie Grant for ‘Perfect People.’

Today’s Word of the Day was PERIPATETIC (pair-uh-puh-TET-ik), an adjective describing someone who walks or travels about.

Thanks for listening!

-Joe
