Content, hospitable and humble

Today we shared some Praise Thursday inspiration on the topics of contentment, hospitality and humility.

Brogan shared this one called Less is More:

Sometimes in life we can get caught up in the consumer culture and want more than we have or need. We want the newest thing all the time because of the social stature that comes with it or to impress those in our life. This lifestyle, however, is a bottomless hole and an appetite that can never be fulfilled. If we give into these habits and wants and desires, we can stray into a lifestyle that can never be fulfilled.

So, what does the Bible have to say about this? Check out Proverbs 14:30, that simply says, “A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones.” Being at peace with what we have in our life, is key to having harmony and peace in our life. Accepting that The Lord has given us all we need and that our desires will never fulfill us is a Biblical principle that can offer a lifestyle that God has promised will give us peace.

Joe shared a devotional from Our Daily Bread called “God’s Embassy,” very close to what some of you have been doing this week in helping others in crisis. Read it by clicking here.

…was a STUMPER…we’ll bring it back next week!

Free school bus shuttles will be offered on Friday evening and all-day Saturday from after the parade till after the fireworks. Handicapped parking will be available in the park as well as for vendors and entertainers. God Cleans The Stains

Today for our Monday Motivation we shared a special devotional out of Our Daily Bread called God Cleans The Stains. With a humble and repentant heart, we must acknowledge our sins and place them under the cleansing light of God’s holiness. We must turn from them and return to Him. And He, the only One who cleans the stains of the soul, will offer us complete forgiveness and renewed fellowship. To read the full devotional click HERE.

Today’s Monday Motivation song is the latest from Josh Wilson ‘Things That Im Afraid Of’

An amazing line from that song says,

My fears would surely kill me
If I didn’t know the truth
The things that I’m afraid of
Are afraid of You

It’s so reassuring to remember that God already won the battle and that we are not to be afraid because he has us in his arms.

Name a place that people go to, which they insist be clean.

The Strength of Prayer

Yesterday we talked about National Best Friend Day on The Drive, and today’s show we followed up on that with a devotional about prayer for others. Prayer for others, especially loved ones and peers in our life is essential to their spiritual growth. Knowing that someone is praying for them can be strengthening and uplifting to know they are not alone. A verse that reinforces this is James 5:16, that says, “ Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective”. We can use prayer to lift and guide each other through tough times, and we can be sure that our prayers have power in the lives of others.

We also shared some great praises including all that we are able to do here at WNZR through blessings including Lifeline and our community outreach events.

Peace on the Tough Days

Today for our Monday Motivation we shared a special devotional out of Our Daily Bread called His Cross of Peace. It told the story of Simon of Cyrene and how he literally denied himself and carried the cross of our Lord. Can we do the same? Read the full devotional HERE.

We also shared the message from the song “Jireh” by Maverick City Music, a song we play on WNZR. One of the lines that stands out in the chorus is:

Jireh, You are enough.

Sometimes it can be hard to find the peace to realize that truth. I pray today that you can find that peace on the tough days to know that we serve a God who is enough in every circumstance.

Name a kind of building that has many beds on it.
