Today we shared for Praise Thursday two powerful devotionals from Our Daily Bread. One talking about the power of storytelling and how humans are connected by the need for a story — read more on it here.
The second devotional was about the story of the “smiling Jesus”, talking about the joy that Jesus had and the joy He can bring to you. Read it here!
Today we shared more about ‘Stay Safe with Big Blue’ for Who Knew Wednesday and how you can win some sweet prizes from WNZR! Read more about it by clicking here.
We also shared more Natural Remedies and First Aid from the Who Knew book.
Here’s the tips:
You put a Band-Aid on your finger to cover up a scratch, but you still have to go through your day full of hand-washing, child-bathing, and dishes-doing. To keep the bandage dry while you work, cover it with a non-inflated balloon–any color will do!
To remove hard calluses from your feet, try this old-fashioned but effective remedy: Grind a few aspirin tablets into a paste with equal parts lemon juice and water. Apply it to the calluses, then wrap your feet in a hot towel, cover in plastic bags, and stay off your feet for 30 minutes. When you unwrap your feet, the calluses will be soft and ready to be filled off with a nail file or pumice stone.
Believe it or not, meat tenderizer works wonders on all sorts of stings–bee, wasp, even jellyfish. That’s because it contains papain, which helps break down the proteins in venom. Make a paste with the tenderizer by adding a few drops of water at a time, then rub on the affected area.

Today we shared some inspiration about forgiveness. Last week we talked about kindness….and part of that is learning to forgive and restore when someone comes to us to apologize for being unkind.
Today we featured two main topics for Who Knew Wednesday…
The first – details on the summer ‘Stay Safe With Big Blue’ activities here at WNZR. We’ve got a contest through July 3rd and also video visits with some of our summer partners. You can sign up for the contest and watch the videos at the link below.
Toothpaste is a great household helper and it even comes in handy with burns. If you sustained a minor burn, cover it with white non-gel toothpaste to ease the pain and help it heal.
You can also soothe and help heal minor bruises and scrapes by using the inside of a banana peel to gently rub the injury. Treat as fast as possible to reduce bruising.
The ancient Egyptians relied on honey for cuts and burns long before antibiotics were around. Besides offering a soothing protective layer over minor wounds, the honey provides a natural antibiotic. Put a layer of pure honey on before a bandage.
Here’s a trick for splinters. Use vegetable oil! It softens the skin and helps the offending piece of wood slide back out. You can also put a drop of white glue over the splinter, let it dry, and then peel off the dried glue. The splinter will stick to the glue and come right out.
We also shared news about Casting Crowns joining hands (not literally) with other artists for a drive-in tour. Read more here!
There’s a light you don’t notice Until you’re standing in the dark And there’s a strength that’s growing Inside your shattered heart
The answer? Tauren Wells – God’s Not Done with You…congratulations to Bonnie of Mount Vernon, who guessed correctly and wins the Pat Barrett CD from our CD Prize Grab Stack!
Today’s Monday Motivation comes from the devotional ‘I Will,’ written by Anne Cetas, reminding us to open to new friendships. Read it by clicking here.
We also shared a hand sanitizer recall today…here’s the info:
The coronavirus pandemic has led to a surge in hand sanitizer purchases, but now the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has issued a warning that nine brands may be potentially toxic.
The FDA said Friday that consumers should stop using any hand sanitizer from Mexico-based manufacturer SA de CV, due to the potential presence of methanol, or wood alcohol, in its products. The FDA warned that methanol can be toxic when ingested or absorbed through the skin.
