Great praise on a beautiful Thursday!

On Today’s show, Brogan shared a devotional on the subject of confession and the power of confessing our sins. To read the full devotional, click here.

Joe shared a devotional on the topic of forgiveness, and he shares:

Matthew 18:21-35 shares the Parable of the Unforgiving Servant. Jesus makes it very clear that forgiveness is incredibly important…in fact, forgiveness is a privilege and a duty to a follower of Jesus. Peter asked Jesus how many times should I forgive? Jesus responds 7×70 times…that the kingdom could be compared to a King settling accounts. And the story goes from there.

So, what can we take away from the Parable? First, forgiving is a very big deal. Jesus gave his life willfully for us. He forgave us, so forgiveness shows that Christ’s love resides in us.

We also find out that forgiving is refusing to seek our own revenge. The Bible tells us to leave room for God’s wrath because vengeance is His. It is not ours. Forgiving is also refusing to be consumed by the past. Finally, forgiving is a privilege and a duty for a follower of Jesus. It’s something that we are hopefully intentional about. Remember when we forgive, it helps us live in hope with ourselves and with others!

Many thanks to Pastor Joe Proudfoot for sharing about this during a series about the parables this summer.

We did not get a winner for today’s Name That Tune, so today’s stumper turns into a chance to win again next week for more prizes!

Thanks for listening!
