STUMPER for Song Poetry/Game Time Tuesday today…do you know these lyrics?
Will you show me?
Reveal yourself to me
Because of your mercy
I fall down on my knees…
It’s coming back next week.
I was saddened to hear of the passing of Mrs. Edith Foster this past Sunday and talked a little bit about this on the show today. Edith and her late husband, Dale, were incredible people and supporters of many community efforts, including helping bring MVNU to Knox County in 1968. The Foster Award for MVNU senior student-athletes still bears their name, as does the new Foster Hall in Ariel Arena.
Over the last week, Knox County has lost some very servant-minded people who cared about this community and were invested in it. Mr. Jim Imel, former principal at Mount Vernon Middle School and longtime scorekeeper for MVHS and Kenyon athletics, Shirley Fletcher, former Knox County Commissioner and Interchurch supporter, and Mrs. Foster. Marcy and I are thankful for the chance to, even if only for a little while, meet and rub shoulders with these fine people. They’ve left a legacy for those of us who love this community to follow.
Word of the Day – IMPREGNABLE…an adjective describing something unable to be captured or broken into, unable to be defeated or destroyed.
Thanks for listening!
