Here are the tips that we shared on what to expect and how to be more comfortable!
How to make your X-Ray more comfortable!
- Ask Questions! Ask the medical professionals to explain the procedure if you don’t understand. There here to help!
- Ask if you can a bring a pillow!
- If you are in any way uncomfortable, let the medical professionals know! There may be something that can do to help or this may alert them to a problem that they need to know.
- Just keep calm! There is need to be nervous – it won’t hurt! The radiation level is low – the apron they put on you is just for precaution!
What to expect:
- Depending on what part of your body the X-ray is being done, you might be asked to undress.
- No matter where the X-ray is being done, you will be asked to remove all metal items from your person, like jewelry, glasses, change belt bucks and etc.
- Sometimes, again depending on what kind of X-ray it is, you will be asked to drink a liquid that will with the procedure.
- They may re-adjust your body to get a better view or to help them see what they need to see.
- This could take anywhere from a couple minutes to over an hour, again, depending on what is being done.
