Here are the tips that we shared on what to expect and how to be more comfortable!

How to make your X-Ray more comfortable!

  1. Ask Questions! Ask the medical professionals to explain the procedure if you don’t understand. There here to help!
  2. Ask if you can a bring a pillow!
  3. If you are in any way uncomfortable, let the medical professionals know! There may be something that can do to help or this may alert them to a problem that they need to know.
  4. Just keep calm! There is need to be nervous – it won’t hurt! The radiation level is low – the apron they put on you is just for precaution!

What to expect:

  1. Depending on what part of your body the X-ray is being done, you might be asked to undress.
  2. No matter where the X-ray is being done, you will be asked to remove all metal items from your person, like jewelry, glasses, change belt bucks and etc.
  3. Sometimes, again depending on what kind of X-ray it is, you will be asked to drink a liquid that will with the procedure.
  4. They may re-adjust your body to get a better view or to help them see what they need to see.
  5. This could take anywhere from a couple minutes to over an hour, again, depending on what is being done.
