Welcome in to another jam packed Afternoon Drive!
Today, we gave you two more chances to win playing “Song Poetry” and “Name that Tune.” We also added a brand new feature to our show, “Artist NewsDay Tuesday”!
ARTIST NEWSDAY TUESDAY – TAUREN WELLS
It’s already been a busy 2018 for Provident Label Group/Sony Music Entertainment artist Tauren Wells. He kicked off the year with two GRAMMY nominations (adding to his previous two other nominations), he currently has multiple songs on the top of the radio charts, he’s been speaking and leading worship at his home church as well as at Lakewood Church in Houston, and to top of it off Tauren welcomed his third son, Navy Elliott, into their growing family!
The Gospel Music Association (GMA) recently announced the nominees for the 49th Annual GMA Dove Awards, revealed exclusively on Facebook Live with the help of Travis Greene and Francesca Battistelli.
So far Tauren Wells leads artist nominations with seven, followed by Zach Williams with six and Cory Asbury, Tasha Cobbs Leonard and TobyMac with five nods each.
ARTIST NEWSDAY TUESDAY: LAUREN DAIGLE
We also have so many of our favorite artists coming out with new music this next month.
On Friday, September 7th, look for a new album from my favorite artist, Lauren Daigle –
Look up Child – a 14 song album which includes the song “You Say” that we have released here on WNZR, a piano version of that song, and the song entitled “Look Up Child”, which is the name of her upcoming tour starting on September 11th. You can learn more about her tour and purchase tickets here!
(And yes, she’s coming to Ohio TWICE on the tour!)
For Song Poetry today, we did an artist that is also up to some pretty exciting things!
Our lyrics were as follows…
“Oh, the God who made the stars
Is the God that made your heart
And He’s holding you right now.”
It’s Plumb and her song “Beautifully Broken”!
Congratulations to Tysha from Mt. Vernon! She guessed correctly!
We chose this one because she released the music video for this song last Friday, and being the huge fan of Alice in Wonderland that I am, I really enjoyed this video.
Check it out here!
If “Beautifully Broken” sounds familiar, it should.
It’s not just a song, it’s also the name of a movie featuring some of our favorite artists including Michael W Smith and TobyMac!
Three families. Two worlds. One incredible true story.
Check out the trailer here!
For Name that Tune, we highlighted one of our Artist NewsDay Tuesday artists – Lauren Daigle! The song we picked was a song that had a prominent theme at our 2018 WNZR Leadership Team retreat, and was the song I actually led for worship in partnership with my devotional. The song? Trust in You.
Congratulations to Grace from Mt. Veron! She guessed correctly!
As always, thanks for tuning in!
