Today is Joe’s birthday and he shared from a recent sermon he heard about the Beatitudes, in Matthew 5.

Matthew 5:5 says, “Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.” The Message translation, from Eugene Peterson, also gets us to the core of our attitude: “You’re blessed when you’re content with just who you are – no more, no less. That’s the moment you find yourselves proud owners of everything that can’t be bought.” Jesus taught that it’s humility that brings true happiness.
