  1. I became famous for my role as Laverne DeFazio on the hit sitcom Laverne & Shirley. 
  1. My brother Garry was a well-known writer, director, and producer who created Laverne & Shirley as well as a show called Happy Days. 
  1. I made history as one of the first women to direct a film that grossed over $100 million. The movie was Big, starring Tom Hanks. 
  1. I also directed A League of Their Own in 1992, which was another huge success. This film also featured Tom Hanks.
