I was born today in 1957 in Havana, Cuba
My family fled to the US in 1959 during the Cuban Revolution
I became a US citizen in 1974
I met my future husband in 1975 at a church music rehearsal
Together we formed the Miami Sound Machine and had hits like ‘Conga’ and ‘Words Get in the Way’
I did the Super Bowl Halftime show in 1992
I’ve won three Grammy Awards
